The Far Infrared Heating Pad is designed to be used either on top of or underneath your body. You can choose which area to blanket with the therapeutic effects of FIR heat. Its soft format allows the pad to conform to the shape of your couch, chair, lounger or bed, as well as drape over the body area that the individual cares to treat. This is safe at appropriate temperatures, and can be used as long as you want for the desired results.

Double check that all connections are made. Remember this is not an old fashioned “radiant” heating pad, but you should feel deep penetrating heat. Also remember, your heating pad takes longer to safely, evenly heat the stones; allow 10-15 minutes to come up to temperature.

Your Jade Vitality far infrared heating pad does not work like a conventional heating pad. The FIR heat from the pad is transmitted directly into your body. It does not heat the ambient air surrounding the pad, so it will only feel warm (approximately 104 F) to your touch, even though the heat sensor might indicate a much higher temperature. This allows the pad to get to the optimal heat, yet not burn the individual as conventional pads might. By placing the pad against your body you are allowing the far infrared rays to optimally penetrate and be absorbed by your body.

Far Infrared (FIR) Heat is a type of deep-heating modality: In contrast to other superficial heating modalities (e.g., hot water baths, hot packs, electric heating blankets, warm compresses) that usually do not heat deep tissues, including muscles, far infrared heat penetrates the subcutaneous layer beneath the skin surface, which usually acts as a thermal insulator and inhibits heat transfer.

FIR radiant heat therapy is a type of conversion heat treatment. This form of heating involves heat transfer by conversion of energy from a wavelength energy state (e.g. light) to another (heat). The high-energy, far infrared photons penetrate the tissues. This energy is converted to heat by exciting the water molecules in the tissues, a process known as resonance. Far infrared waves can actually penetrate up to 2-3 inches deep into muscular tissue and ligaments. FIR results are deep and long lasting, usually lasting 1 to 1.5 times longer than the treatment application.

It is possible, but unlikely, that burns can result if you use the heating pad on bare skin. We recommend you use at least one layer of cloth as a protective barrier while using the far infrared heating pad. Remember the far infrared wavelength will penetrate through clothing or a towel without affecting the heat transfer.

The list below contains known conditions when the far infrared heating pad should not be used, or only be used under the supervision of a physician. This list is not exhaustive. If you suffer from any serious condition that might be affected by the use of this product, please consult with your physician before using the heating pad.

• Do not use directly over open wounds.
• Do not use directly over acute injuries.
• Do not use directly over face or genitals.
• Do not use if you are insensitive to heat, including paraplegic and quadriplegic or have poor blood circulation or nerve dysfunction that affects your ability to feel heat or cold sensations.
• Do not use if you are immobile or incapacitated, or not able to remove the heating pad from your body.
• Do not use this product with infants or children under the age of 6. Children under the age of 14 should always use the pad under adult supervision.
• In the case of pregnancy, diabetes, hemophilia, malignancy or other serious conditions, consult with your physician before applying the heating pad.

The Jade Vitality products are available in a standard 110 volt power option. A 220 volt option may be available by special request.

Yes, in fact it is advised that you use a protective layer between you and the pad. There is no decrease in effectiveness with the use of a protective layer.

EMF stands for Electromagnetic Field. It is an energy field that is emitted from any electric wires that have current running through them, and some evidence indicates certain types of EMFs can be harmful. Unlike typical electric heating pads or blankets, your Jade Vitality heating pad, when in operation, has no current running through its wires, and every effort has been made in the design, development and construction to reduce and eliminate EMF exposure.

This Product includes the product itself, and, unless specially excluded below, all material, parts, and components related to functionality. This Limited Warranty applies only when all of these parts are genuine components supplied by the Seller of the Product.

• COVERAGE: Subject to the limitations and exclusions below, and for the duration of the applicable Warranty Period, Seller warrants that the Product’s components will be free from material and functional non-conformities in material and workmanship under normal and reasonable consumer conditions.
• WARRANTY PERIOD: For the first year after purchase, at its discretion, the Seller will repair or replace any defective part, component, mechanism, or material. This warranty coverage during the first year shall include all defective parts and labor. The Warranty Period shall commence upon purchase of the product by the end-user consumer.

a. GENERALLY: This Limited Warranty does not include non-conformities or damages attributable to or arising from:

• Minor scratches or minor visual imperfections
• Negligence; Improper use, installation, maintenance (including failure to maintain finish) or operation inconsistent with seller’s recommendations and written instructions that are generally available in seller’s Product Manual as updated by bulletins or other written communications or on Seller’s website: www.jade-vitality.com.
• Improper storage, including inadequate shelter or inadequate venting in humid locations.
• Misuse, commercial use, or use other than generally intended.
• Normal wear and tear.

b. Certain Conditions: This Limited Warranty does not guarantee health claims. Further, this Limited Warranty does not cover damage attributable to or caused by acts of God that include, but are not limited to, power surges, stresses, fire and other conditions that exceed Product designs. Seller is not responsible for claims or damages caused by water or condensation infiltration.
